Admin vs Fact. Admin wins everytime.
It’s my birthday today, I’m 23. Getting older. o_O;
So this happened, not exactly word for word, but it is what happened. I know not to be sexist towards woman, but this was just a joke song me and another brother were singing, and I was just singing what you see up in the comic. Though, I did stop when I asked, I was kicked because of ‘arguing’ with an admin, though I didn’t argue with the singing, just what was actually in the MOTD, and by ‘argue’ I said that it didn’t say it in the MOTD. Which leads me into a much more important point about this, because me and the admin have already settled the dispute so that exact episode doesn’t matter anymore.
Slaughterhouse has been cracking down on everything lately, so a singing a song we used to play regularly is now a kickable offense. Most of the hammer has been been brought down on regulars instead of newbies. I’ve seen more brothers kicked in the last month than the rest of the time I’ve been at slaugherhouse combined.
I’ve seen this kind of mentality before and it basically led to the ‘Elite’ ‘purging’ anyone who wasn’t exactly what they wanted, so the community stopped growing and eventually people would leave one by one until the community dies. Of course, in those communities, speaking up in anyway against ends up getting yourself purged from the community.
Sure it’s great that certian people pay for a server for us to play on, but if we’re not wanted it’s just as easy for us to find a different server/community. But if a community becomes heavy handed with dealing out punishments, well, that takes all the fun out of being there. And if it’s not fun to be there, why stay?
A lot of people with powers don’t like this and just follow orders and usually just end up hating it and quiting, but there are others who love having this power and it goes to their head. And the power mongers don’t quit until there is no one to have power over.
I’d perfer the community to go back to how it was, with out having to worried about being kicked or banned all the time, and doing/saying the things we used to enjoy.
In the end, it doesn’t matter what I say, it’s not my community and they can have it anyway they want it. I just shouldn’t have to be afraid to have an opinion.
